We got up around seven today, and it was already 22 degrees. We had breakfast and talked about what to do with the day. We went over to number thirty for morning tea around ten. I left there at eleven and went home and cleaned the air conditioner filter, hung laundry, put on another load. With around 33 and wind washing is a good idea. After lunch we went inside to avoid most of the heat that we are not quite used to just yet. We baked the next thing out of our recipe booklet. When it was cooler outside we went out again, I used our new mulcher, and it worked good, when it ran. I assume there was a reason it was $20 at a garage sale. I also watered the plants and cleaned Mikkas cage. Once all that was done we went in again and it was time to cook dinner. The entire family was in the kitchen to make dinner happen. After dinner Sofia fell asleep on the sofa and Evie was a bit fussy.

It was weekend so we all got to sleep in a little bit. I was last out of bed and I got out of bed after eight. We went down to the village to get some shopping done in the morning and from there we went to number thirty for some tea. After tea we went home and put our shopping away and had lunch outside. It was lovely and warm, around the thirty mark. We did laundry of course since it was warm so things dried in no time. In the afternoon we spoke to my parents as usual. Spring is here for sure.

Today was warm, I got up and made my train by not shaving in the morning. At work I felt unproductive for most of the day. I had problems running studio as someone had checked in a bad update. In the afternoon I managed to get Confluence running on just 170mb heap. Not too bad, but some work still remain to be able to do anything with that. During lunch I went out and got blank dvds and an SD card. I can't believe how cheap they are now! a mere $8 for a 2gb card! In the afternoon we had demos as usual and after that it was Communist zombie drinks. However I was too tired to attend, so I went home instead. At home the girls were all tired and Sofia was soon in bed. With her in bed I called the bank to ask them WTF is going on. It is amazing that an organisation that makes billions in profit still behaves very much like a three year old. Sigh.

I made the train this morning, which is always a good thing. At Central I got on a crush loaded Tangara, which carried me and a couple of hundred others to town hall. At work I continued performance work. There is a clear benefit of getting performance work regularly. Nothing fantastically interesting to report at the end of the day. We left at four meaning that today we actually did a full work day rather than an extended day. At home I spoke to farmor Ulla.

I made the train in the morning which is always nice. I got some small things done in the morning before we headed over to the star room in darling harbour for 'devil hands'. Devil hands is a play with words (or sounds) it was a 'dev all hands' but if you say it fast it sounds like devil hands and therefore we call it that. It took an hour and a half. After that it was performance work. I was trying to make Confluence re-index faster. Lots of things going on multi threaded indexing, contention on locks and stuff. It is a hard problem and a bit messy at the moment. But I am making progress. I also got interrupted a number of times for various reasons. It was nice and warm when I left the office to go home.

We got to bed in good time last night and as a consequence I was able to get up in time this morning and I could buy my ticket and even had to wait a few minutes for the train. At work I started by clearing up an issue and then I moved to getting my dev environment going, since I am now changing teams for the 4.1 work. Should be interesting. The rest of the day was spent on getting a handle on a bug and again getting my head around the dev environment. As such the day was very much like any other. At home Sofia was a very good girl which was a nice change from yesterday.

Evie woke up at 5:30 this morning, which is quite possibly the worst time for a little girl to wake up, as by the time she's fed and ready for a nap again I have to wake up and so she won't go to sleep. I just made the train in the morning, it was pulling in as I came down the stairs. At work I worked on a 20% project dealing with a library Scott wrote. I think I'll need to clean it up a tad but over all it was good. I also got lots of distractions so I did not make as much progress as I would have liked. In the evening I used the credit card I had bought yesterday to buy Nero 4 Linux. All worked well which was very pleasing for me. I also looked at other things to spend my remaining money on, but failed to find anything really great.

I slept well last night, and did not make it out of bed until half past seven. We had breakfast and then I went down to the village to get a pre-paid visa card (so I can use it online without risk), and a few other bits and pieces. From there I met Jessica on the way over to number thirty. We had morning tea there and I managed to get the girls out before lunch which is quite a feat. At home we hung laundry and then we had lunch. After lunch Evie went to bed and the rest of us went out. I dug out the plants infront of the garage and by the end of the day I had our raised gardenbed in place (and almost in complete level too!). After that we went in and had dinner. After dinner we gave Sofia a bath. After the bath she was so tired she fell asleep in my lap, so we popped her in bed and sat down equally tired.

We got up early today, getting out of bed around 6:30. This was so we could get to the doctors when they opened. It was cool, a mere14 in the house. We arrived at the doctors by way of Brian who was out for garage sales anyway. We arrived and found a line of maybe 6 in front of us. We had to wait about an hour before we got in. Sofia was very good the whole time which was a pleasant surprise. Turns out she did not have pneumonia like we feared but just normal kiddy sickness. Evie was fine as well. From there we went to number thirty for morning tea. At home we had lunch and did some laundry. In the early afternoon Brian came by with the brand new raised garden beds we wanted (for vegies in front of the garage). After he had gone Sofia, Evie and I went to bed for a quick nap. I had a nap as I've been so tired during the week and I had trouble sleeping last night. In the afternoon we spoke to my parents as usual.

Being very tired seems to be the new thing for mornings. This morning I did not have time to shave. As I left it was raining which just made it that bit worse. At work I did not really feel like doing anything. I ended up spending the day wrapping stuff up. We had our retrospective and then team lunch. And in the afternoon it was a tech talk as usual. So not much did get done but that was okay. At home Sofia was sick again, fever and coughing. We are going to the doctor early tomorrow morning, to hopefully beat the queues. At home I was trying to get the new graphics card (the one that came with the computer) to perform well, still no luck. I built an RPM with the latest Nvidia driver but the performance was still abysmal. It needed a good 76 seconds to draw the text part of the performance program (the open source driver needed 0.32s to draw the same thing). Of course the OS driver lacks a number of features, not sure what to do but right now I am contemplating swapping the card out for a different one, the same one I have at work. We'll see what happens..
