We got to bed in good time last night and as a consequence I was able to get up in time this morning and I could buy my ticket and even had to wait a few minutes for the train. At work I started by clearing up an issue and then I moved to getting my dev environment going, since I am now changing teams for the 4.1 work. Should be interesting. The rest of the day was spent on getting a handle on a bug and again getting my head around the dev environment. As such the day was very much like any other. At home Sofia was a very good girl which was a nice change from yesterday.

Evie woke up at 5:30 this morning, which is quite possibly the worst time for a little girl to wake up, as by the time she's fed and ready for a nap again I have to wake up and so she won't go to sleep. I just made the train in the morning, it was pulling in as I came down the stairs. At work I worked on a 20% project dealing with a library Scott wrote. I think I'll need to clean it up a tad but over all it was good. I also got lots of distractions so I did not make as much progress as I would have liked. In the evening I used the credit card I had bought yesterday to buy Nero 4 Linux. All worked well which was very pleasing for me. I also looked at other things to spend my remaining money on, but failed to find anything really great.

I slept well last night, and did not make it out of bed until half past seven. We had breakfast and then I went down to the village to get a pre-paid visa card (so I can use it online without risk), and a few other bits and pieces. From there I met Jessica on the way over to number thirty. We had morning tea there and I managed to get the girls out before lunch which is quite a feat. At home we hung laundry and then we had lunch. After lunch Evie went to bed and the rest of us went out. I dug out the plants infront of the garage and by the end of the day I had our raised gardenbed in place (and almost in complete level too!). After that we went in and had dinner. After dinner we gave Sofia a bath. After the bath she was so tired she fell asleep in my lap, so we popped her in bed and sat down equally tired.

We got up early today, getting out of bed around 6:30. This was so we could get to the doctors when they opened. It was cool, a mere14 in the house. We arrived at the doctors by way of Brian who was out for garage sales anyway. We arrived and found a line of maybe 6 in front of us. We had to wait about an hour before we got in. Sofia was very good the whole time which was a pleasant surprise. Turns out she did not have pneumonia like we feared but just normal kiddy sickness. Evie was fine as well. From there we went to number thirty for morning tea. At home we had lunch and did some laundry. In the early afternoon Brian came by with the brand new raised garden beds we wanted (for vegies in front of the garage). After he had gone Sofia, Evie and I went to bed for a quick nap. I had a nap as I've been so tired during the week and I had trouble sleeping last night. In the afternoon we spoke to my parents as usual.

Being very tired seems to be the new thing for mornings. This morning I did not have time to shave. As I left it was raining which just made it that bit worse. At work I did not really feel like doing anything. I ended up spending the day wrapping stuff up. We had our retrospective and then team lunch. And in the afternoon it was a tech talk as usual. So not much did get done but that was okay. At home Sofia was sick again, fever and coughing. We are going to the doctor early tomorrow morning, to hopefully beat the queues. At home I was trying to get the new graphics card (the one that came with the computer) to perform well, still no luck. I built an RPM with the latest Nvidia driver but the performance was still abysmal. It needed a good 76 seconds to draw the text part of the performance program (the open source driver needed 0.32s to draw the same thing). Of course the OS driver lacks a number of features, not sure what to do but right now I am contemplating swapping the card out for a different one, the same one I have at work. We'll see what happens..

I was so tired this morning. I had to cut the shaving short and run to the train. I made it, but only just. At work I was working on performance again, I decided it was time to tidy up one of my test-cases I've been using. I started converting it to a stand alone program. I made good progress but not finished. I also took a look at re-indexing times and why search results are so crap. I did an interesting experiment and improved the ranking of two queries. The desired result moved from page five to page one in one of the examples and from page three to page one (and page one only had relevant results). It felt good to "be on to something", we'll see if I can mature it to an over all improved solution. I also got foundered right before lunch but it was over quick and fruitful I think.

I got up and by not shaving I managed to give me enough time to not only make the train but to buy a new ticket and also have a few minutes to wait for it. At work I spent the day doing performance work on the plugin system. I got it to a state where I consider to commit it. I will go through the code again tomorrow to ensure I've not missed anything essential. Other than that nothing much happened. I finished the alternative ending to The Dig. I can now cross that off my long list of things to do. After that I wrote a bio and then I went into php land to start work on the last bits to complete the the update of the site.

I was very tired in the morning and very nearly missed my train. But I did make it. Work was alright, I managed to track down the thing that was broken in the end. I minor change to the markup. Will be a very short post today as nothing really happened. Oh well nothing happened at work. At home we got our new office chair delivered. It is an Aeron chair which is very nice, very comfy.

Today was work day again, and I got up and made my train. It was quite warm when I walked to the station. Work was as work is most. We are on RC now which means there is still a bit of a scramble until we get all the things left to do fixed. It was a beautiful day, so it was a shame to be inside all day. I got home and we hurried to get our little chatterbox in bed. She was quite tired so she did not object. With Sofia in bed I called the bank again. After being on the queue for about 10 min I finally got to talk to someone. I am not certain he fully understood what was the problem, and what I wanted done about it. He tried his best to help me, but I think I will have to talk to someone at a branch. In the end he agreed to organize payment of $27 to us, for their mistake. But it was not the money that was the issue. Stupid banks.

Today was Father's day, so I got breakfast in bed. I of course had to pretend to sleep so Sofia could come in and wake me up. After breakie we finished making a cake for Brian and at around eleven we went over to wish him happy father's day as well. We came home and had lunch outside as the weather was absolutely lovely. We ended up staying outside, I moved our pavers and empty flower pots into the garden shed. I then weeded around the composts. Jessica also did some weeding and Sofia was busy running between us and helping. Eventually the afternoon caught up with her and she was very grumpy and tired (and warm). We put her in bed and she slept for an hour which did her much good. In the evening we logged into netbank to pay a bill and notice that we had been charged a fee. Looking into it the bank has made a mistake. I got on the phone to try to resolve it, and after being transfered two times they realize that the people that can resolve my issue are not working today. Sigh. Tomorrow they will get a phone call, and I am not happy with them, not at all.
