I got up as usual this morning and walked down to the train, lo and behold! We had clear blue skies! I made the train and got to work without any drama. At work I moved desk as my time on team black was over. My glorious return to the Super Sonic Hedgehogs was somewhat dimmed by the fact that I was not joining the team as such since I was going straight down to support for my support rotation. Now don't get me wrong I don't mind doing support, and I may actually go as far as saying I like it for some time. I am now on a four week rotation we'll see what I think at the end of it. Anyway, I moved my computer down, and found that I did not need to move my screens down so that was good. I cleaned my desk upstairs and moved my stuff over as I knew Stefan would use my old desk. After lunch I came back and moved my screens to the desk I will use while I'm back. The support rotation started with two seriously hard cases. It is interesting moving on as developer on support (or DoS for short). As I will only get the cases that the senior support engineers have not managed to solve, so they are difficult, seriously hard stuff. In some cases I think that our support staff are better equipped than me to handle these cases, but of course, my understanding of the code means I can give some unique insights into what can be the cause, and how to fix it. I worked on both cases until it was time to go home. At home it was a usual evening. Evie was really happy to see me, Sofia was tired. She had not cried at all today, which was good. At eight I had to 'go to work' again as I am required to be available while they run the upgrades at this time of the day. This was sprung on me last Friday, but I got it sorted so I will get this time in lieu which is good. I plan on taking this time (should be four of these upgrades during my DoS time) after ANZAC day, so i get a mega long weekend. And since I can do this 'being available' from home it works out pretty good for all involved.

Sofia was up twice in the early morning, the first time she was terrified because she was convinced she had seen a spider 'under my shoe'. We calmed her down, but could not find the spider, we think she may have dreamt it. Second time she was just being silly. as a consequence we were sleeping in today. I almost got up at seven, but decided against it, and stayed in bed until eight. I had breakfast and then got Evie up and gave her breakfast. Jessica woke up at nine and Sofia shortly after. We spent the morning just cleaning things up a bit. At around quarter to eleven we walked to number thirty and had some coffee. We stayed and spoke of the dam, the river and on-line privacy. We walked home and had lunch and then put a tired Evie in bed. After lunch we went outside as it was not raining(!). I tied up our shade sail as the rope had broken a few weeks back. I also cleared the gutter on the garage. Then we went inside and had fika. After fika Ryan and Tanya arrived and picked up the pram they had bought from us. After that we went inside and I continued my cleaning spree. I have now gone through all drawers save two in our desk drawers. Gotten everything out and only put back things that should be in them. Two of the drawers are now nearly empty, all good! I then made dinner and while dinner was cooking I went out into the rain and put some fertilizer around our trees. Back in and dinner and then normal evening routine.

I was almost ready to get up at seven, but I changed my mind, figuring it was Saturday after all. I got up around eight and picked up the little screamer and shortly after Sofia got up. After breakfast we went, as usual, over to number thirty. Again as usual we stayed until lunchtime. We walked home through very light rain. At home it was lunch and then domestic duties. I continued with my 'desk and surrounding areas' cleaning. I emptied one drawer, moving most of it to a better location. It feels good to get all that done. Jessica made new cookies for fika which was very nice. In the evening we spoke to farmor and farfar as usual. After we put the girls to bed Jessica left for a girls night out and I was left all alone. So I took this opportunity to play some Little Big Planet 2 on the PS3. I'm pleasantly surprised by this game, it was much better than I expected and considering I would not consider buying it (whereas before I would not) I'm pleased.

I got up as usual this morning, but one thing was unusual. On the news in the morning they said "People in the Hawksbury and Nepean regions are advised to stay home from work and school today as there is a risk that flooding will make bridges collapse". Now I go over the Nepean river every day, but I did not stay home, tempting as it was. It was raining though. At work I continued my work on new performance builds. It was partly a struggle with maven. In the end I found the magic incantation, I had to include a file that did not exist rather than exclude the files I did not want! How obvious! During lunch Ryan and I went out him to get coffee and me to get a couple of bdr. The lady at the coffee shop quite clearly thought we were gay, and I'm kicking myself for not taking full advantage of this. Like when she offered us free coffee I should have said "Oh, how lovely, you love to have coffee out honey" to Ryan. I suppose she spotted our wedding bands and thought we were married, which we are, but not to each other! Back at the office I was alone, the other had gone for a release lunch but they had picked a restaurant that had nothing on the menu I thought I wanted to eat (they did have vegetarian things though). I completed the work I sat out, kind of which was good. At home it was pizza as usual for Fridays. At around 18:00 Warragamba dam started spilling. Serious news for people along the Nepean river. The dam is now at full capacity! Just a few years ago things were looking dire in terms of water supply, no longer so. Parts of Penrith, Emu Plains and Kingswood have been evacuated and are expected to flood over night and tomorrow. And the rain continues, what fun.

I got up as usual this morning and made the train. It was raining ever so little when I walked to the station, still enough to make me get the umbrella out. It was not raining in the City which was good. The day was pretty average actually. I fought with maven most of the day, as things go. On the way to the station it was raining again. I was on the 4.53 train home. At home we spoke to farmor Ulla as usual for Thursdays.

I was off 'sick' today. I had already flagged this as I was going back to mr Eye specialist today. I knew he would dilate my pupils and that would render me unable to work for most of the day. Anyway.. Evie was screaming at around 6 poor girl is a bit sick. We got her up and after about an hour in our bed we got up and started our day. Sofia joined us shortly after. At ten Brian came and picked me up. The weather was miserable. It took way longer than I wanted at the doctor (and I was dilated). I was back home shortly after twelve. Jessica was away at mother's group so I made lunch and cleaned the kitchen a bit before I sat down for a bit of a rest. Jessica was soon home again and we went over to number thirty to pick up Evie. Jessica wanted a coffee so we stayed there. Back home we popped little Evie in bed before we had fika. After fika it was time to get on with the normal domestic duties. As such it was a rather boring day.

I got up and made the train again today. It was warm in the morning 20 degrees. Work was pretty much as usual. I had a meeting with Joey and a planning meeting. Nothing really interesting happened. I went out during lunch and got a pen to write on CDs (okay, optical media). I went home on the 16.24 train. Jessica told me that Sofia had not cried at all today, which was very good we were very proud of her. A short diary entry today as not much happened. I have tomorrow off to see the eye specialist again, and I assume he will dilate my pupils thus rendering me unable to work.

It was hard to get up in the morning but I did get up in time to make the train. It was warm 20 degrees when I got up. Work was pretty much as expected, lots of catching up to do. I had to chase down the broken performance builds. It took me most of the day. I headed home with a head ache and tired eyes at around 14:30. The train took me home at around 16:30 which was nice. In Glenbrook it was humid! Really humid. At home it was business as usual. The girls were both tired and so spent a good part of the afternoon/evening crying. Silly girls.

A couple of houses down had a party last night, a loud party, to 3 am. I drifted off before then, but it was late and disturbed sleep. We should have called the police on them, and also bought one of those "horns on a can" used at ice hockey rinks and the like. With them we could walk past at 9 am and 'pay them back'. Anyway at around ten thirty we walked over to number thirty for morning tea. The weather had turned for the worse and was lightly raining. We came home again for lunch. After lunch Jessica and Sofia went out while Evie and I stayed inside. With Evie in bed I cleared the desk. I did not put many things back (four things, a note pad, two laptops and a laptop rest). We'll see how long it stays clean, I give it to Wednesday. That took me all afternoon. We gave the girls a bath and then dinner and it was soon bedtime. I hope there are no parties tonight. I plan on going to work tomorrow, but I think it will have to be a half day, or a short day at least. We'll see.

With a party next doors last night we were all very tired in the morning. I got up around seven thirty, and had breakfast and played two levels on Little Big Planet 2. Jessica joined me at around eight or shortly after. Sofia did not get up until nine! We walked over to number thirty and left the girls and went down to do some shopping. Back again we had some water before we went back home again. At home Jessica mowed the lawn and I was inside with Sofia making 'kokosbollar' and of course playing with the Duplo. In the evening we spoke to my parents as usual for Saturdays. The girls went to bed shortly after.
