May 27, 2012
I had intended to get up early this morning but when morning rolled around it was too nice in bed. I got up at around eight. After breakfast and getting all the girls ready we walked over to number thirty and had tea there. We came back home again for lunch. After lunch we did all the things that needed doing around the house. I also played Little Big Planet 2 for a little while. I also played a few seconds of Gran Turisimo 5, but was not able to even complete one lap as girls wanted to interrupted me or have a turn. I am sure we did other things as well but right now I can't remember them. It was a pretty quiet day.

May 26, 2012
Evie was fussy last night, quite fussy, I was up between 23:30 and midnight and Jessica was up between midnight and 0:30 or so. I had passed out then so I do not know exactly when Jessica got to sleep. As a consequence we slept in today, I only got out of bed by almost 9. All the girls were up by then of course. We spent the morning at home, Jessica took the girls outside and hung luandry and played in the garden while I baked a cake in the kitchen. After lunch we popped Evie back in bed and went out and said hello to the neighbour's 9 week old labrador puppy. After that it was time to get the laundry in, make fika and talk to parents. It was a rather quiet and cool day but it was good.

It had rained over night and with the cloud cover it was actually not too bad from a temperature point of view. True it was 16 in the house when I got up but it did not feel all too cold. I made the train as well. At work I continued work on my new stuff, I've chosen to call it Indigo Monkey but I have yet to convince people that we should call it something less dry than its current name.During lunch we went out and got some coffee beans for the Egans and also had some lunch. After lunch it was meeting times. I did not have to attend the first meeting but the second I could not escape. I was also asked by Jed to attend the Confluence demos but I had to leave early to make the 16.53 train home.

It was cool in the morning. As I walked over the bridge the train pulled in, talk about timing, a little bit too tight though, as I had to rush along the platform to get to the car I prefer to be in. Needless to say I made the train. At work I continued my new tasks. During lunch I played Carcassone with a whole bunch of people (5 including me, but I'd say that 3 of them were novices). I won which was good of course. But then again we usually do not actually care who wins. After lunch it was back to work. I had a meeting on at the very end of the day that meant I went on the 17.05 train home. I spoke with farmor Ulla in the evening as usual.

It was cool in the morning but I still managed to get up and make the train. At work I thought I had the full day at the old desk, but it turned out I did not need the full day. At around ten I had moved all my belongings over to the office on the other side of the street. On the other street started my new life. This whole secondment is something I never really thought would happen. I always said 'I believe it when I see it' now I'm finally seeing it. I had a lunch with my buddy which was good. Even though we had just been working together it is always good to have a talk outside of the office walls. Ryan and I left to be on the 16.24 train home. At home I went past the chemist to get stuff for little Evie. At home I was met by two very tired girls. I'm not sure they even noticed I arrived home.

May 22, 2012
I was back at work today. It started of course with me hurrying to the train in the morning. At work it was the same old stuff. I have still not secured the move, but it happens on Thursday. During lunch it was no game today, but a good talk with Nali and Ryan. After lunch I headed to Lincraft and got patches for my bag as I found it had holes in it. After lunch it was back to the same old stuff. Due to meetings we went on the 16.53 train home.

May 21, 2012
I had arranged to have today off which meant that I could sleep in. Sofia prevented some of that of course by screaming for us at around 6:30. I told her to stop screaming and eventually she came into us and when asked why she was yelling she could not answer. We got up around quarter past seven. After breakfast we got ready and we all went and dropped Sofia off at pre-school. From there we went to number thirty and away we went shopping. It took us until lunch to get home again, but we had succeeded in getting almost everything we set out to get. At home we put a sick and grumpy Evie in bed. She slept for nearly two hours. With Evie in bed we were free to get on with other things. I crawled under the house to try and locate the mouse hole we've got and fill it from the back. I could not find it. I filled it from the inside thought, so now we'll see if it can keep the mice out. I then set out to tick things off my long todo list. I got a fair number of things done, I think I'm down to about three right now. In the afternoon I went and picked up Sofia. She was very happy to see me and tell me all about her day. She came running to give me a hug. At home again we made dinner and soon popped the tired girls in bed.

I woke up when the alarm went off in the morning, shortly after Sofia came into our room. I tried to get her to stay in bed a bit longer but she did not want to. We got up shortly after seven thirty. After breakfast with all the little girls we went in and woke up Jessica. With everyone up it was time to have morning tea. After morning tea we went and hung the laundry out from yesterday. We did stuff around the house that was in need of doing. We found that since I had painted the hole mice had been using to get in (three weeks after I patched it) they had broken through it again. So we went over to number thirty as we knew Brian had a big roll of steel wool to put in there, that should be good on their little teeth! Back home again we had lunch and then put a very tired Evie in bed. Poor girl is still a bit sick. We then did the rubbish and general domestic duties. In the evening we got the laundry in and then had dinner and put the girls to bed early as they were both very tired. I have tomorrow off for the late night deployments I had to do all those weeks ago. Which should be good.

We all slept in today, not getting out of bed until a few minutes past eight. We all had breakfast and then we walked over to number thirty. We had morning tea there and then home for lunch. After lunch we put a sick tired Evie to bed. I went out and sanded and then painted the board that goes in our lounge room. It has been in need of a paint and sanding session since we moved in. We also hung laundry. We made waffles for fika. After fika it was time to speak to farmor and farfar as is tradition for Saturdays. After that it was a quick dinner and soon bedtime for little girls. Jessica then was picked up by one of the mothers at mother's group and away she went, leaving me all alone. At home I tried to get the new Nsight to work on my laptop, but my Ubuntu has too old a driver for me to be able to run programs generated by the CUDA 5 SDK. Sigh, so I tried to upgrade but of course Ubuntu being Ubuntu I failed. After nearly two hours (!) of stuffing around I gave up. It was simply not worth my time. I will wait until the drivers are production ready and bundled for Ubuntu. Very annoying as the new Nsight IDE looks to be pretty much exactly what I am after and in need of.

I got up and made my train as usual this morning. I played a bit of KH on the way in. At work it was full steam ahead. Nothing really fantastic but it always makes me wonder how come planning is so hard. I mean we knew summit was coming, we'veĀ  known for a year, how come then are we in such a position now? Really.. At lunch Niraj, Nabeelah and myself played Carcassonne. Nali won today. After lunch it was more of the same. I quickly tried the new Nsight developing environment for CUDA. Literally a 30 second test. It looks good. I left and went on the 16.24 train home. I had planned to have Monday off, but now I can't, quite annoying. In Glenbrook I was met by Christine and together we went to the fruit shop and picked up a box of potatoes and with it I was driven home.
