So I have not written my diary for the last couple of days, the reason was that the despicable cold-sore-in-my-eye was back for a visit. I could feel it coming on Friday and started to use the ointment I had since last time. On Sunday when we were over on number thirty for birthday lunches I must have rubbed my eye and scratched it as it got suddenly much worse. On Monday I called mr Specialist and the GP hoping to get an appointment with either. However I could not get in with either. At around lunchtime I called the GP back and said 'I need in, now' so I got a squeezed in at 16:45. I did not have to wait very long and was soon leaving with a prescription for a new batch of anti-viral and also a batch of anti-bacterial as I had indeed scrached my eye ('laceration' was the word used, or 'a bit of skin flapping when you blink'). Yesterday I could open my eyes which was good. In the afternoon I had both open. Today I had both open again, and saw mr Specialist. He confirmed the diagnosis from the GP and asked me to be home another week(!). Anyway I can't type much more now as my pupils are still dilated a bit and the other one blurry from said ointments. I'll try to write my diary every day again from now on.
